Our pilot colleagues demonstrate impactful commitment

Social responsibility is close to our hearts

At pilot, we have been actively committed to social responsibility since 2013—across all our locations. Our engagement is diverse and encompasses five pillars: learning, helping, giving, preserving, and contributing.

We support children through the pilot media club, lend a helping hand during the pilot social day, contribute through donations, engage in climate protection, and offer a platform for individual volunteer work with “purpozed.” In this way, we create sustainable participation and joy for many people.

Social Day Berlin 2023

For over 10 years, pilot colleagues have been involved in the pilot media club, guiding elementary school children as media trainers through the jungle of communication in a playful way. The learning objective is to ensure safe internet use and to engage with advertising. Important topics such as data protection and online consumption are also addressed. The highlight of each school year: a visit to our Hamburg or Berlin office, where the students experience agency life and develop their own out-ofhome advertising concept.

Whether in Hamburg, Berlin, or Nuremberg, once a year, the pilot colleagues show their social commitment on pilot social day. In their free time, they support local non-profit initiatives with hands-on work. For many, this collaborative effort has become a tradition. For example, pilot colleagues have already built a pond in the school garden of the Grund- und Stadtteilschule Alter Teichweg in Hamburg, assisted in renovating a residential complex for the Berliner Jugendhilfe Elisabethenstift, or met with refugees from Ukraine in Nuremberg.

To provide targeted support for initiatives and partner schools of the Kinderjahre Foundation, pilot regularly makes donations. As part of our CSR activities, we donate computer equipment for media education at Hamburg schools. Most recently, students at the Gyula Trebitsch School in Tonndorf received new computers and hard drives.

Since 2019, the pilot group has been annually certified by the independent myclimate foundation with the Impact Label. By financing selected climate protection projects, pilot takes responsibility for its own carbon footprint. Based on CO2 assessments, we also identify the key levers for reducing CO2 emissions and implement internal measures across all locations.

In addition to our project-based commitments, we have expanded our CSR activities with the corporate volunteering toolpurpozed.” This tool enables all pilot colleagues to engage in social projects of their choice. “purpozedconnects non-profit organizations with motivated volunteers, making it easy to find volunteer work that matches personal skills and sustainability goals. This collaboration emphasizes the individuality of our pilot colleagues, as we want to give everyone the opportunity to find the right social commitment.
